Looks like our dear friend Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) will be moving on from her heartbreak over ex-boyf/love-o-life Dan Humphrey(Penn Badgley) by sounding the battle cry of single gals the world over: “PROJECT!”

TVLine reports that Serena will be taking her sweet cousin – and half-sister? – Lola Charlie Rhodes (Ella Rae Peck) under her wing Cher Horowitz-style in order to turn her into “the Upper East Side’s new It Girl”!

Whether or not Lola is on board with the changes remains to be seen (though surely she’s a-okay with getting another winter coat in her closet – has a Gossip Girl character ever worn anything as much as Lola wears that brown coat?). But, hey, if Lo is taking to her new life on the UES a bit more readily than expected, who can really blame her? No more days languishing as a suffering artist — and a hot boyfriend with a swanky last name? Life as a true Rhodes ( and possible van der Woodsen) ain’t so bad!

One question though: How might this all play into Serena’s pending offer to become Gossip Girl? If there’s a new It Girl on the block, might there be more at play with her unveiling? Is Serena simply schemin’ — or is this confirmation that she won’t be taking the reins at GG? Guess we’ll have to wait and see...
