Will Gossip Girl Be Renewed for Season 6? Producer Says Season 5 Finale Isn't the End

There’s so much left to see on Gossip Girl. Who will Blair end up with: Chuck or Dan? Is Lola really Serena’s sister? Is Diana related to anyone? Will Nate finally get interesting again? There’s just so much left to feel, you guys. The show must go on!

And… it will, according to CW insiders, who report Gossip Girl is on the verge of being renewed for Season 6. A source tells The Wrap the network is close to renewing the hit drama for a “final” season — but with a smaller number of episodes, shortening the season from 22 weeks to closer to a dozen. Executive producer Josh Safran weighs in, telling TVLine he's absolutely confident GG will be renewed. "We are not closing out this season with a series finale."

Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford all reportedly have contracts for six seasons. Both Leighton and Blake have expressed interest in ending their GG reign as soon as their contracts are up; last year, Blake told Elle, “We’re at this point now where it’s the homestretch, and for the first time, we feel the end.”

Gossip Girl Season 5 Spoilers: Everything We Know About Episode 18, "Con-Heir"

The last time we wandered the Upper East Side in our Louboutins, we were left reeling from a major development: Blair Waldorf told Chuck Bass she was giving her final rose to Dan Humphrey. (Chair fans: apologies for rubbing more salt in that wound, but rest easy; even Ed Westwick is convinced Chuck and Blair belong together.)

On April 2, 2012, Gossip Girl returns with Season 5, Episode 18, "Con-Heir," and we've rounded up everything we know about the much-anticipated episode. Here's what to expect as we enter into Season 5's home stretch:

Dan and Blair Have Sex More Than Once
Dair’s first attempt at consummating their epic love story may not live up to Dan’s expectations, as we’ve seen from his lackluster “Wow” response in the promo. However, TVLine reports the two are “in a slight different state of mind the second time they do it." Drunk Dairing? Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol.

Jack Bass Returns!
According to the official synopsis for the episode, Chuck asks good ol' Uncle Jack to come back to NYC to thank him for saving his life, but "the trip doesn't exactly go as planned."

Chuck Bass Is Out for Blood
Chuck is going to do more digging about his time at the hospital, which may or may not lead to “a big reveal” about who really donated the blood that eventually saved his life. On the show, we saw Jack call Diana Payne(Elizabeth Hurley) on the night of Chuck’s accident. Could it have been Diana — and not Jack, like we assumed after Lily told Chuck about the doctor thing — who saved Chuck’s life?

A "Contentious" Feud Is Brewing Between Lily and Ivy
Lily van der Woodsen knows a thing or two about plotting and scheming, and she's going to be putting these skills to vindictive use against Ivy. "Con-Heir" is only the beginning — the battle will grow to pull "almost all of the characters into its orbit" by the end of the season. Adding fuel to the fire, Ivy reportedly finds an ally in William van der Woodsen.

Beneath the never-ending Chuck Basssuits is one heavily tattooed body. Gossip Girl star Ed Westwickis an avid body ink enthusiast, boasting more than a handful of tattoos all over his hunky British bod — including song lyrics, a topless lady, and a tattoo in reference to the weight of the human soul.

Ed tells Interview, “I’m a big fan of Elvis, man. I got 'Heartbreak Hotel' tattooed on my chest. Yeah, and I’ve got '21 Grams,' 'Love Me Two Times,' the song by the Doors. I have 'I Heart Romance' on my forearm and 'You Make Me Feel Like the One' across my shoulder.” The inspiration for “I Heart Romance?” A bathroom stall in a bar in Brooklyn, Ed says, explaining simply: “I thought it was cool, so I got it.” The “21G” (short for 21 grams) tattoo is a nod to the purported “weight of the human soul,” according to People.

Ed reportedly plans to get “way more” tattoos, because: “They're addictive. Live fast, die young. Be a good-looking corpse.” There’s one special lady who is not a fan of Ed’s ink addiction, however: his mom. She particularly hates his upper right arm tattoo of a topless woman. Of his parents, Ed tells OK!, “They’re pretty proud, I think, except [for] the tattoo. [I’m the] black sheep of the family.”

The burgeoning It Girl has been linked to costar Penn Badgley, noted ladies’ man Leonardo DiCaprio, and is currently dating (and possibly moving in with!) hunky Ryan Reynolds.

As her star rapidly ascends to the Hollywood heavens, we’re totally curious about one thing: How much is this leggy blonde star worth? Let’s crunch a few numbers. Gossip Girl Season 5 Spoilers: Serena’s Sister Project

Yes, Serena, you’re pretty, too. But seriously? Go away. This is Blair’s moment to shine!

Looks like our dear friend Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) will be moving on from her heartbreak over ex-boyf/love-o-life Dan Humphrey(Penn Badgley) by sounding the battle cry of single gals the world over: “PROJECT!”

TVLine reports that Serena will be taking her sweet cousin – and half-sister? – Lola Charlie Rhodes (Ella Rae Peck) under her wing Cher Horowitz-style in order to turn her into “the Upper East Side’s new It Girl”!

Whether or not Lola is on board with the changes remains to be seen (though surely she’s a-okay with getting another winter coat in her closet – has a Gossip Girl character ever worn anything as much as Lola wears that brown coat?). But, hey, if Lo is taking to her new life on the UES a bit more readily than expected, who can really blame her? No more days languishing as a suffering artist — and a hot boyfriend with a swanky last name? Life as a true Rhodes ( and possible van der Woodsen) ain’t so bad!

One question though: How might this all play into Serena’s pending offer to become Gossip Girl? If there’s a new It Girl on the block, might there be more at play with her unveiling? Is Serena simply schemin’ — or is this confirmation that she won’t be taking the reins at GG? Guess we’ll have to wait and see...

Det är ingen film det ryktas om utan en tv-serie om när dem var yngre. Och hon som ska spela Carrie är redan vald, och resten av tjejerna tror jag inte kommer vara med då det handlar om Carries tonårsliv :)

Filmer & Serier om Visste ni att..?:

CW ska göra the Carrie Diaries som handlar om Carrie när hon går på High School, som serie. Har inte hört talas om någon film, men serien har det ryktas om sedan i höstas, och CW har beställt en pilot.

Svar: Det var ju trots allt i somras/våras kanske jag läste att det skulle bli en film, men jag googlade lite och kom fram till att det första som kommit ut var att det skulle bli en ny SATC film som skulle handla om när de var unga. Men det vidareutckledes och det ska bli en TV-serie baserat på "The Carrie Diaries". I Carries tidigare liv var inte Miranda och Charlotte inblandade och det kommer nog alltså inte att vara inblandade så mycket. Det är inte heller bestämt vem som ska spela Samantha, men det ryktas om Blake Lively. CW har "köpt" serien så alltså ommer den att bli av. Serien ska procuceras av samma man, Josh någonting, som producerar Gossip Gir.

Ryktades det inte (förut iaf) att Blake skulle spela Carrie?

Visste ni att det ryktas om att det ska komma en ny Sex and the city film om när tjejerna var yngre? Om filmen verkligen ska bli vet jag inte, men om, så ryktas det om att Blake Lively ska spela Samantha som ung.

We don’t know the full story, just what Lily told Chuck: which is that she gave the doctor’s number to his evil uncle, Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington).

Men få vet att skådespelerskan Caroline Lagerfelt, som spelar CeCe, faktiskt är svensk och har en lång internationell karriär inom både film, tv och teater. Vi ringde upp skådespelerskan i New York och pratade skönhetsknep, New York-restauranger, gotländska syrener och hur "Gossip Girl"-skådespelarna egentligen är.


Är "Gossip Girl"-inspelningen så glamourös som man föreställer sig?
– Ja, mycket hänger på modet i "Gossip Girl". Serien är som en "Sex & the City" för unga människor. Det är fullt av Chanelkläder, Birkinväskor och vackra smycken. Jag insisterar på att få bära mycket glitter, gärna tre till fyra ringar om jag kan, för min rollfigur är inte blyg med sin bling. Hon är en motsats till hur jag är själv.

– Det är också en fantastisk energi på inspelningen, vi har alltid fyra-fem hundar och Kaylee DeFer har en gullig liten gris som springer omkring. Man kommer till jobbet halv sex på morgonen, förvandlas från en trött mamma till en vacker societetsdam och har alla dessa fantastiska djur omkring sig.

Hur är det att jobba med de andra "Gossip Girl"-skådespelarna?
– De är fantastiska. Kelly Rutherford, som spelar min dotter, har blivit som en riktig dotter, vi umgås mycket på fritiden. De unga flickorna, Leighton Meester och Blake Lively, är fantastisk rara, trevliga och vackra. Alla designerplagg de har på sig är couture, inget finns att
köpa i butik.

Kan du berätta något om hur Blake och Leighton är privat?
– Absolut! Blake har verkligen fötterna på jorden, hon är ingen barnstjärna utan mycket fokuserad och oerhört intelligent. Hon väljer alla sina filmer själv och är fantastiskt trevlig och avslappnad. Hon är varm och trevlig, naturligt artig och jätteskärpt. Hon är "nobody’s fool". Ingen av tjejerna eller killarna har på något sätt ändrats eller förstörts av den enorma uppmärksamhet som de får.

– Leighton är den som står mig närmast av alla de unga. Hon är den roligaste flickan jag träffat. Så skojig och så fräck, hon är oerhört charmerande. Hon är också en jättebra sångerska. Jag har blivit USA:s äldsta groupie, för i somras gick jag på två shower som Leighton gjorde i Los Angeles. Taylor Momsen är också sångerska och har lämnat serien för att fokusera på sin musikkarriär. Det gjorde hon alldeles rätt i, för hon är som en ung Janis Joplin. Kelly, som spelar min dotter, är väldigt ekomedveten och grön. Hon säger åt mig saker som "nej, du ska inte köpa det där nagellacket, det är giftigt. Ta det här istället".

– Alla de här tjejerna är smarta, roliga och tänker själva, de har inte managers som säger åt dem vad de ska ta på sig och göra. Det låter som pr-snicksnack, men det är sant. Jag har jobbat med en hel del mäninskor som inte alls är så trevliga.

Vad använder ni för smink i serien?
– Den foundation vi använder mest är Make Up Forever High Definition Foundation. Blake, Leighton och Kaylee använder mascara från Chanel, Estée Lauder och L'Oréal. Kaylee älskar Cliniques Chubby Stick.

Har du lärt dig några proffsknep av alla makeupartister som sminkat dig genom åren?
– Jag har lärt mig att dyra krämer inte är värda pengarna. Jag har världens bästa hy för en kvinna i min ålder och det är inte på grund av dyra krämer. Det är för att jag inte har solat och aldrig går ut utan solskyddsfaktor, inte ens när det är molnigt. Jag har också världens bästa hudläkare, som tar bort solskadorna man fick när man var ung. Jag väljer snälla hudkrämer som inte testats på djur. Det jag lägger pengar på är bra borstar, det tror jag är viktigt. När man börjar komma upp i min ålder gäller "less is more". Många sminkar upp sig för mycket, både ögon och läppar, och då ser man hård och gammal ut – även om man är 23 år.

Hur håller du dig i form?
– Det är en konstant kamp, för "tv-smal" är annorlunda än vanligt smal. Det finns inget lätt sätt att hålla sig smal och snygg. Det handlar om att kalorier in och kalorier ut; allt annat är bullshit. Jag är inte mycket för att träna på gym, men jag har en hund som jag går promenader med och jag går när jag ska någonstans, jag tar sällan taxi. Ska jag upp tre våningar eller mindre tar jag alltid trapporna.

– Men jag njuter av livet, älskar att dricka dry martini och äta en fantastisk fisk med god sås, bröd och efterrätt. Jag tycker att det bara är tjafsigt när folk sitter på restaurang och beställer in äggviteomelett och sallad utan dressing. Hemma äter jag väldigt hälsosamt, mycket grönsaker, fisk och fullkorn. Jag gillar Wasa-knäckebröd som man kan köpa överallt nu. Häromdagen var jag ute på restaurang med en väninna och då beställde vi in varsin förrätt och sedan en varmrätt som vi delade på. VI blev båda mätta och glada. Jag har många såna där småknep.

Du är född i Paris, uppvuxen i Sverige, bor i Kalifornien men jobbar mycket i New York och London. Var känner du dig egentligen mest hemma?
– Jag är ensamstående mamma, så jag är lyckligast där mina barn finns. Jag känner mig hemma överallt, men jag trivs nog allra bäst i New York och på Gotland, där jag äger en gård. Gården är vårt home away from home och båda mina pojkar kommer dit och firar jul i år.

Vad saknar du mest från Sverige?
– Sen jag flyttade till Kalifornien saknar jag mest årsskiftningarna. Den svenska våren är absolut det mest suveräna som finns, även om vintern är en väldigt tråkig och mörk period. Jag äger en gård på Gotland och min dröm att komma dit när syrenerna blommar. Vi är oftast där på sommaren och ibland över julen, så trots att jag har haft gården i 16 år har jag aldrig
sett vår syrenhäck i blom.

Har du någon vardagslyx som du brukar unna dig?
– Det jag tycker är trevligast är att gå ut och äta. Jag och min yngsta son är båda "foodies", vi älskar mat. Vi tycker att det är urroligt att gå på restauranger, läser alltid om mat i tidningarna och följer matlagningskurser. Det jag unnar mig mest är att ta en jättegod dry martini och en trevlig middag, antingen med en kompis eller med något av mina barn, på en ny krog jag hört talas om. Jag kanske läser i New York Times att det öppnat en ny etnisk restaurang som är känd för sin "macaroni and cheese" med tryffel. "Det måste vi pröva!" säger vi då.

Finns det något du fortfarande vill uppnå i din karriär?
– Jag vill fortsätta att blanda teater i New York och London med film och tv. Just nu gillar jag att göra filmer med unga, independent-filmmakare. Jag är väldigt sugen på att jobba med någon ung, svensk regissör.

SVAR: Det stämmer. Men den kanadensidka promon för avsnitt 18 "Con-heir" verkar inte ha kommit ut än men så länge finns den amerikanska promon för "Con-heir" som sänds i USA den 2a april.

- Leighton var tvungen att färga sitt naturligt blonda hår mörkt för att ens få gå på audition för rollen Blair.

- Gossip girl var med på listan på en undersökning som en nedladdningssajt hade gjort inför 2012 på dom mest nedladdade serierna 2011 i USA. Gossip girl kom då på tredje plats!

- Producenterna spenderar mellan 70 000 och 500 000 kronor per dag för att använda vissa inspelningsplater i New York.

- Den enda av skådespelarna som är från New york är Connor Paolo som spelade Eric van der woodsen.

- Skådespelerskan som spelade Blairs mamma i det allra första avsnittet är inte densamma som i dom andra avsnitten.

- Caroline Lagerfelt som spelar CeCe är svensk. Hon är uppvuxen i Sverige och äger nu en gård på Gotland där hon spenderar så mycket tid som möjligt.

But Chace’s Most Stylish nod ends with backhanded burn only the likes of Blair Waldorf could deliver: “His wilder touches (like this knit-tie-and-tux combo) aren't exactly the most rule-shattering, but experimentation just seems so... new money, no?”

Eftersom det knappt finns några nyheter om Gossip girl på grund av pausen i USA så finns det inte så mycket att lägga upp. Men vad vill ni se i bloggen? Ge mig förslag då jag vill ge er det bästa! :)

En rätt rolig parodi av Gossip girl som en grupp som pluggar komedi har gjort!

Who better to recap each week’s new episode of Gossip Girl than author Cecily von Ziegesar? In this week’s edition, she talks about how much she loved CeCe’s Irish wake and makes a plea for Dan to get a new haircut. Find out all her favorite moments in “The Princess Dowry” (Season 5, Episode 17).

So much happened last night, my mind’s still all atwitter (pun totally intended)! Some might say it was predictable. And sure, I sorta guessed CeCe was going to leave the whole shebang to Ivy, and I sorta guessed that Dr. van der Woodsen would turn out to be Lola’s dad, and I guessed a really long time ago that Georgina wasn’t the real Gossip Girl, she was just filling in. I guessed the what of it, but not the how of it. And boy, was it entertaining to watch it all unfold! You dig?

Sorry, I’ve had way too much caffeine this morning.

Here are some of my favorite moments from "The princess Dowry":

Favorite scene- CeCe’s Irish wake. Totally inspired. Loved the ridiculous Irish band playing constant fiddle-y Irish jigs. Loved Serena, Lily, and Rufus all slumped in chairs in front of the coat of arms bedecked coffin, sipping Irish whiskey and wondering if their lives could get any more bizarre, while the help from Cece’s pampered past—the butcher, her gardener, her driver—had a whale of a time celebrating her passing.

Favorite line—Blair to Estee, the plummy British-accented royal secretary appointed to her by Louis’s court: “You slimy little limey.”

Favorite absolute slime-bucket—Pinky-ringed and black shiny shirt-wearing Billy Baldwin as Dr. van der Woodsen, Serena’s daddy, and as it turns out, Lola’s. Well, Serena always wanted a sister.

Favorite bad hair—Dan’s. Why does no one fix it? Maybe he has to play an old-fashioned sword-wielding guy in tights in some upcoming PBS drama. It might actually look better if he tied it in a pretty black velvet bow. Or maybe Blair—since she loves him—will loan him one of her old headbands.

Favorite good hair—Ivy’s. Her long strands were toned a slightly deeper, caramel hue last night that I really dig. She’s not just another blond anymore. Money suits her.

Favorite outfit—Georgina’s black open-breasted, high-collared dress. So wickedly dominatrix-y, and so perfectly accessorized with a high, tight ponytail. She rocked it like no other evil bitch could.

That just about sums it up. I leave you with this image: Blair and Dan all a-smooch in the Humphrey’s Brooklyn loft, when suddenly the door bangs open and there are Lily and Rufus with all their luggage, having been kicked out of their Upper East Side penthouse by Ivy. It might get kind of cozy. And Lily might get sort of lost on those uncharted Brooklyn streets. But at least Rufus can go back to making breakfast without those meddling chefs and caterers always getting in the way.

Can’t wait for more GG storms in April!

We’ve heard your pleas and cries every week. The conversation continues on Twitter, on Facebook, at the lunch table, with your friends. Everyone has their opinion. That’s why we asked two very passionate Gossip Girl shippers to debate Chair vs. Dair!

Every Monday night during an all new episode of Gossip Girl, Chair fans all over the world trend “Save Chuck and Blair” on Twitter. Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf have a huge fan base, and nobody can deny that.

The show basically relies on both Blair and Chuck for most storylines. Their chemistry is undeniable. Even when the writers keep them apart, their chemistry stays undeniable. There are plenty reasons why Chuck and Blair need to be together. They share mutual interests like burlesque, limos and scheming, but most of all their love for each other. Chuck has only ever loved Blair and Blair never stopped loving Chuck. Chuck loves Blair for who she really is. He doesn’t want to change anything about her. He wants to put aside his own happiness for Blair’s. And Blair loves Chuck for who he is.

Blair stood by her man all this time. She is the only person who can convince Chuck to do anything. Blair’s passion and love only make Chuck’s heart even bigger. Chuck also stood by his girl, supporting her to be the powerful woman she already is. Whenever Blair feels insecure, he lets her know how beautiful and amazing she truly is.

Blair:  “You’re all I ever wanted. I love you. I love every part of you. You’re the one I never want to leave. “– 5x10 "Riding in town cars with boys".

They know the other one better then they know themselves. They know what the other one is thinking without using any words. They care about their friends and don’t judge each other. Chuck and Blair have fireworks in every scene. They complete the other one in a way and they know it too, because they feel incomplete without the other. He’s not Chuck Bass without her, and it’s not her world without him in it. They think and act alike, even when they are not in the same place.

Another aspect to point out is that every time Chuck & Blair tried to get closure, it actually brought them together again. Think about the scene at the train station in Paris and Chuck’s already famous apology earlier this season. Moments of them being totally in love followed fast.

Blair and Chuck have lots of history. They have had good and bad times in the past five seasons, as every other character on Gossip Girl. But somehow they never stopped loving each other. And they never will. Their love has always been true in the five years that we’ve known and loved Gossip Girl. But that is mostly because of Chuck and Blair and not for anything or anyone else. Keeping them apart is wrong because they are an actual pairing that makes sense.

Blair: “I’ll always love you.”
Chuck: “I will always love you.”

Chuck and Blair are for real, and I hope the writers will figure it out. People who are meant to be together will find their way back in the end. Remember, true love stories never have endings….

We’ve got a brutal 5-week wait until Gossip Girl returns on April 2, and we’re already suffering from withdrawal. After all, Monday’s ep left us with sooo many questions: What’s next for Blair (Leighton Meester) and the man who now has her heart? How will Chuck (Ed Westwick) respond to the news that his awful uncle saved his life? Will anyone put a stop to crazy Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) and the madness of this inheritance business?

To pass the time, we’ve compiled a list of the five things we expect to go down in the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite when Gossip Girl makes its triumphant return.

Dair struggle with their, er, intimacy issues
Though Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair’s kisses have been magical, and the flirtation has been holdin’ steady for months (maybe even years), there’s trouble between the sheets for the Upper East Side’s newest couple. But knowing how close they’ve become and how brutally honest Blair is, we’re hoping they can work it out. After all the time it’s taken them to actually get together, they’d better!

Chuck and Jack team up
Jack (Desmond Harrington) is heading back into town for an unknown numbers of eps, and we’re told that he’ll be on “good terms” with his heart-achin’ nephew, Chuck. According to executive producer Joshua Safran, their continuing story is “fun,” with Jack helping Chuck to uncover secrets. Might they be of the Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) persuasion? Based on the fact that those two ne’er-do-wells appear to be in cahoots, we’ve got our money on yes.

Inheritance squabbles and a van der Woodsen media circus
Photos from the Gossip Girl set this week show Serena (Blake Lively) and Lily (Kelly Rutherford) holding a press briefing on the streets of NYC. Since news of CeCe’s (Caroline Lagerfelt) death is likely to have already made the front page of the papers, we’re guessing this newsworthy moment has to do with the fallout of said death — like the fact that a con artist is getting all of her money? The battle over CeCe’s inheritance is long from over, and for a family as rich and powerful as the van der Woodsens, it may mean a spotlight on their every move.

Baby daddy drama
When Carol’s (Sheila Kelley) big payday turned into Ivy’s, the former heiress got desperate. We don’t know if she was serious when she told William van der Woodsen (Billy Baldwin) that he’s 
Lola’s (Ella Rae Peck) dad, or if it was just a bluff. Either way, we’re pretty sure we’ll find out. Lola seems hell-bent on figuring out all that she can after the latest kerfuffle with her conniving mom, and she’s looking to get intel from William. Plus, Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) heard the big secret. We all know that girl doesn’t miss an opportunity to cause destruction.

The arrival of that laptop
Now that the excitement of playing Gossip Girl has gotten old for Georgina, she’s headed to Monaco to get Blair out of her marriage. (We can’t even begin to speculate on how she’s going to manage that.) Since she’d hate for the UES to be blast-free, she’s left her laptop in the hands of that media maven on the rise, Serena! This could create a serious conflict for poor S — just weeks ago she was calling for GG’s head on a platter, but she might change her tune when she has all those secrets and that power in reach. We’re dying to know what choice she’ll make and when the actual Gossip Girl might re-emerge…

Sigh... so many questions, so many weeks to wait!

Men jag har en fråga. Jag vet att Leighton gjort en film som heter the oranges med bla. Hugh Laurie (House) men det verkar vara jätte konstigt för det står att den haft premiär i toronto 2011 men den finns ingenstans att hitta :P vore tacksam om du visste något :)

Svar: Det stämmer att Leighton har gjort en film som heter The organes med Hugh Laurie och Adam Brody. Jag har kollat runt lite och det verkar faktiskt som att filmen inte har haft premiär i USA. Den har bara haft premiär i Canada. Om den inte kommer ut överhuvudtaget i USA eller om den kommer ut senare vet jag inte.
Jag själv skulle vilja se den och har kollat runt efter den på internet men hittar den inte alls. Men om jag skulle göra det så lägger jag självklart upp torrenten/sidan här på bloggen! :)

Hur många avsnitt är det kvar? Känns som det är ganska lite tid på att fixa allt i serien bra igen ;)

svar: Tyvärr har jag inget svar på din fråga mer än att jag kan tänka mig att det blir mellan 22-25 avsnitt. Säsong 1 var 18 st, 2 25, 3 och 4 22. Så något av det är väl rimligt. :)
