And here we thought we had this whole dress business all figured out!!

In new photos from the CW teasing the return of Gossip Girl in just under two weeks(!!!), Blair is seen shopping for a wedding dress ― with Dan Humphrey by her side, no less! ― and it isn’t the wedding dress made (in)famous by those runaway bride pics of a few weeks back!

The dress that B sports in the newly-released pics is none other than Vera Wang’s “Giselle” gown from the Spring 2011 collection! Fittingly, the dress is just as gorgeous as its predecessor ― with a bit more flair, and a design that’s a bit more REGAL (read: princess-esque, if you ask us!).

While B could just be trying this dress on while perusing the goods at Vera Wang, double dresses also just so happen to lend support to that whole “multiple dream sequences” plotline we’ve been banking on. 

The question is: Which dress is the real one?

B does her best Julia Roberts (errr, Maggie Carpenter, rather) in this gown that captured our hearts wayyy back in November, but we couldn’t quite ever shake the “off” feeling that Blair Waldorf, Future Princess, getting married in late 2011 in a year-old dress gave us. Plus, this is the dress she escapes the church in ― the church in NYC ― AND, by assumption, the dress she filmed in at JFK (and if all those plot points were spoiled by filming, that’d be the worst-kept secret ever). Still, the classic style of the dress feels a little more suited to a royal wedding. (And, you know, we’re hoping she doesn’t go through with it... so 5 bonus points to this being reality ― a reality in which B flees!)

While this gown looks like a dream sequence ― that skirt! ― with the likelihood of all of the above, Giselle moves its way into the reality realm quite easily. On the flip side, B is just trying on gowns in the shop, and if we know Blair (and we’re pretty sure we do!), there’ll be plenty of options weighed before the final selection is made. We wouldn’t even be surprised if that paper in Dan’s hand is full of notes on every gown in the city! BUT, if B is trying to convince herself that she really does want this princess stuff to work out ― the ep is called “The End of the Affair” after all... sniff sniff... ― maybe she’ll reward her forward-thinking with the most lavish dress that Vera has to offer...
