The last time we wandered the Upper East Side in our Louboutins, we were left reeling from a major development: Blair Waldorf told Chuck Bass she was giving her final rose to Dan Humphrey. (Chair fans: apologies for rubbing more salt in that wound, but rest easy; even Ed Westwick is convinced Chuck and Blair belong together.)
On April 2, 2012, Gossip Girl returns with Season 5, Episode 18, "Con-Heir," and we've rounded up everything we know about the much-anticipated episode. Here's what to expect as we enter into Season 5's home stretch:
Dan and Blair Have Sex More Than Once
Dair’s first attempt at consummating their epic love story may not live up to Dan’s expectations, as we’ve seen from his lackluster “Wow” response in the promo. However, TVLine reports the two are “in a slight different state of mind the second time they do it." Drunk Dairing? Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol.

Must-Watch Finales: Scoop on 39 Season-Enders
Gossip Girl (CW)
Airs: Monday, May 14 at 8/7c
Sorry, Dair and Chair fans: The finale is pretty much all about Serena, who has recently pulled one big Kardashian on us, no? S started the season wanting a behind-the-scenes existence, but now she’s obsessed with reclaiming her It girl crown and using her new secret role Gossip Girl to do it! It’s safe to say Charlie isn’t the only one who’s going to find out about that gig. Series boss Josh Safran also tells us that while the finale won’t look to exceed the over-the-top lavishness of Blair’s wedding, the emotional cliff-hangers that clinch the season will have the biggest ramifications ever. “It’s very much like somebody presses a button and detonates a bomb and things will never be the same — more so than ever before,” Safran says. Too soon to say, “Peace out, Dan! Welcome back, Chuck!”?

Ausiello: I’m going to sidestep your question and instead tell you that at least four of the nearly two dozen [Spoiler]‘d out entries on TVLine’s 2012 May Sweeps Scorecard belong to Gossip Girl.
Latest from Kristin- spoiler
Yes, Gossip Girl's newest relationship will be facing a threat soon, but is it her ex-boyfriend Chuck attempting to come in between them? That is the question. Plus, will the currently single Serena (or should we refer to her as Gossip Girl now?!) find love by the end of this season?
HeartOfGlas007: Any Gossip Girl news, esp Chair or Dair related? Those pesky G.G. writers are being very tight-lipped…
How about a little bit of both? In a shocking twist, we have a bit of scoop that will probably do little to please either couple's fan bases! Shocking, we know. Something is going to try to come between Dan and Blair soon…but that something isn't Chuck, who's kind of busy dealing with his mama drama. It's also not Blair's desire to retain her Upper East Side status. Any guesses?
Sooriclover: Any scoop on Dan andSerena? I'm hoping they get back together eventually.
Sorry, Dan is kind of sort of dating her BFF at the moment! But we can tell you that Serena will have a love interest before season's end. In fact, she may even have more than one! That's the Serena we all know and love!

Question: When will Dan and Blair say those three magic words to each other on Gossip Girl? They will say them, right? —Lolita
Ausiello: One of them will. The other one won’t be quite ready to go there.
Question: Why so awesome, Ausiello? Is there some kind of vitamin you take or were you just born that way? Can I now have a Gossip Girl scoop? —Alice
Ausiello: An extraordinary ass-kissing begets an equally extraordinary scoop: In an upcoming episode, the role of Blair will be played by… Blake Lively. Now go ahead and decipher that little brain teaser in the comments. I’m very curious to see what you come up with.
Ny spoiler från Ausiello- UPPDATERAD
Ausiello: LOL!!!!!! Oh, sorry. I’m still laughing at that joke about me possibly being wrong. I crack myself up sometimes. Anywho, I don’t have any intel on Dan/Georgina, but I can tell you that there is huge twist coming that (I have to imagine) will impact the Dan/Blair/Chuck triangle
spola fram till typ 5.40 så kommer Gossip Girl spoilers :)
Uppdaterat- Do you know if Ed Westwick will be on Gossip Girl next season? I heard a rumor he wasn’t going to be. — @wrightst3
That’s just one of the many rumors floating around, so I attempted to clear the air when I chatted with executive producer Josh Safran. “Everyone’s under contract, and as far as I can say, yes, everyone will be back. How they will be back may be a little bit up for debate, but they will be back,” he said. Color me intrigued (which I’ve always pictured as being sort of magenta-like).

Question: Give us a scoop about a Gossip Girl/Dair moment in the future that you can’t wait to see? —Ivana
Ausiello: There’s a fairly epic kiss on the horizon. That should be pretty cool. Also, look for Dan to make a pretty big professional sacrifice during May sweeps — in the name of love.
Question: Do you know anything about Gossip Girl and the possible reunion of Blair and Chuck? Give us some hope for true love. —Gabby
Ausiello: Would you settle for some truly heartbreaking news regarding another GG duo? You would? Awesome. Thanks for being so flexible. Exec producer Josh Safran confirms that Lily and Rufus are headed for a rough patch — and it’s caused by their recent move across the East River. “There is a lot of relationship drama [coming up] for Lily and Rufus,” he says. “Let’s just say a tree may grow in Brooklyn, but Lily van der Woodsen does not. She is a Manhattan girl at heart and her transition is not going to last very long.”

Talia: I know Blair fans will hate this question, but I want to know what's going on with Ivy. #gossipgirl
"Now that Ivy is actually an insider, but she wasn't born there, the question will be, do people have to accept her?" Josh Safran muses to us. "I think that story goes into really interesting places because it really challenges the fabric of the Upper East Side. Lily and Rufus aren't even living there anymore and here's this woman who is now tied to them." And y'all better get used to Ivy being around the UES, because Safran says that Gossip Girl has "every intention of Kaylee [DeFer] being back next season."
Finale spoilers from Ausiello
The obstacles are always going to be that Dan knows just how big of a presence Chuck has been in Blair’s life. And that’s something Blair works very hard to put Dan at ease about, but I think the harder she works at putting Dan at ease about that the more uneasy he feels. And, obviously, their relationship is hard for everybody around them because Serena was and maybe still is in love with Dan. And Chuck has his issues that he’s dealing with. And whenever Chuck is dealing with issues, Blair often wants to help.
TVLINE | Is Louis no longer a factor?
He is no longer a factor.
TVLINE | So Georgina takes care of that situation?
The situation will be taken care of. I’m not sure it’s ultimately Georgina who takes care of it.
TVLINE | If Ivy loved having a family so much, why is she alienating the Van der Woodsens? What’s her endgame?
She definitely still wants to be a part of the family. But she’s upset because no matter what she has tried to do they don’t except her. So, at this point, she feels like she has nothing left to prove because they’re not going to accept her anyway, so she’s just going to look out for herself.
TVLINE | Is Serena the new Gossip Girl?
I don’t want to say because Monday’s episode is very much about that struggle for Serena. But it’s like the Ring and Frodo. That’s how we looked at that story.
TVLINE | It feels like the storyline is building to you revealing the identity of the real Gossip Girl. Is it?
This storyline is something we did not tread lightly about. We knew if we were going to open this door we had to see it through. And we will be seeing it through.
TVLINE | So we will find out who Gossip Girl is this season?
I’m not going to comment on that. But we are seeing the story through.

We've learned that the CW soap is raising a character from the dead, and the resurrection should make fans clamoring for more solo storylines for Chuck Bass pretty happy! So who's coming back to the Upper East Side come May sweeps?

wrightst3: Bart Bass was spotted on the set of Gossip Girl. Any scoop about him returning from the grave?
Yes, the father of our favorite motherChucker is in fact returning to the CW drama and viewers can expect to see the not-so-dearly departed Bart Bass at the end of the season. John Robert Burke appeared as Bart ghost-style in season two, but if we had to guess, we'd say he'll be returning in a flashback capacity this time around.

Jack Bass Returns!
According to the official synopsis for the episode, Chuck asks good ol' Uncle Jack to come back to NYC to thank him for saving his life, but "the trip doesn't exactly go as planned."
Chuck Bass Is Out for Blood
Chuck is going to do more digging about his time at the hospital, which may or may not lead to “a big reveal” about who really donated the blood that eventually saved his life. On the show, we saw Jack call Diana Payne(Elizabeth Hurley) on the night of Chuck’s accident. Could it have been Diana — and not Jack, like we assumed after Lily told Chuck about the doctor thing — who saved Chuck’s life?
It's a battle of dueling game faces!
A "Contentious" Feud Is Brewing Between Lily and Ivy
Lily van der Woodsen knows a thing or two about plotting and scheming, and she's going to be putting these skills to vindictive use against Ivy. "Con-Heir" is only the beginning — the battle will grow to pull "almost all of the characters into its orbit" by the end of the season. Adding fuel to the fire, Ivy reportedly finds an ally in William van der Woodsen.

The battle between Ivy and the Van Der Woodsens is only just beginning! And it will be contentious. I'm hearing it will continue gaining force through the end of the season, and pull almost all the characters into its orbit.

Ausiello: Not exactly. Let’s just say they’re in a slightly different state of mind the second time they do it — and leave it at that.
Spoiler!
It’s hard for us to think about this without having major PTSD from the time we almost lost Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) to the black hole of television history. After his shocking car accident In Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 10, “Riding in Town Cars With Boys,” Chuck almost died of massive blood loss. Who saved his life by donating blood? We don’t know the full story, just what Lily told Chuck: which is that she gave the doctor’s number to his evil uncle, Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington).
Now, E! is speculating Chuck is going to do more digging about his time at the hospital, which may or may not lead to “a big reveal” about who really donated the blood that eventually saved his life. On the show, we saw Jack call Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) on the night of Chuck’s accident. Could it have been Diana — and not Jack, like we assumed after Lily told Chuck about the doctor thing — who saved Chuck’s life?
We’ve speculated a lot about why Diana’s back on the scene, but we still feel it could be because she’s somehow tied by blood to Chuck Bass. During Chuck’s hospital record sleuthing, could the big “reveal” have something to do with Diana being a part of his bloodline?
5 things to look forward to when Gossip girl season 5 returns
We’ve got a brutal 5-week wait until Gossip Girl returns on April 2, and we’re already suffering from withdrawal. After all, Monday’s ep left us with sooo many questions: What’s next for Blair (Leighton Meester) and the man who now has her heart? How will Chuck (Ed Westwick) respond to the news that his awful uncle saved his life? Will anyone put a stop to crazy Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) and the madness of this inheritance business?
To pass the time, we’ve compiled a list of the five things we expect to go down in the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite when Gossip Girl makes its triumphant return.
Dair struggle with their, er, intimacy issues
Though Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair’s kisses have been magical, and the flirtation has been holdin’ steady for months (maybe even years), there’s trouble between the sheets for the Upper East Side’s newest couple. But knowing how close they’ve become and how brutally honest Blair is, we’re hoping they can work it out. After all the time it’s taken them to actually get together, they’d better!
Chuck and Jack team up
Jack (Desmond Harrington) is heading back into town for an unknown numbers of eps, and we’re told that he’ll be on “good terms” with his heart-achin’ nephew, Chuck. According to executive producer Joshua Safran, their continuing story is “fun,” with Jack helping Chuck to uncover secrets. Might they be of the Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) persuasion? Based on the fact that those two ne’er-do-wells appear to be in cahoots, we’ve got our money on yes.
Inheritance squabbles and a van der Woodsen media circus
Photos from the Gossip Girl set this week show Serena (Blake Lively) and Lily (Kelly Rutherford) holding a press briefing on the streets of NYC. Since news of CeCe’s (Caroline Lagerfelt) death is likely to have already made the front page of the papers, we’re guessing this newsworthy moment has to do with the fallout of said death — like the fact that a con artist is getting all of her money? The battle over CeCe’s inheritance is long from over, and for a family as rich and powerful as the van der Woodsens, it may mean a spotlight on their every move.
Baby daddy drama
When Carol’s (Sheila Kelley) big payday turned into Ivy’s, the former heiress got desperate. We don’t know if she was serious when she told William van der Woodsen (Billy Baldwin) that he’s
Lola’s (Ella Rae Peck) dad, or if it was just a bluff. Either way, we’re pretty sure we’ll find out. Lola seems hell-bent on figuring out all that she can after the latest kerfuffle with her conniving mom, and she’s looking to get intel from William. Plus, Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) heard the big secret. We all know that girl doesn’t miss an opportunity to cause destruction.
The arrival of that laptop
Now that the excitement of playing Gossip Girl has gotten old for Georgina, she’s headed to Monaco to get Blair out of her marriage. (We can’t even begin to speculate on how she’s going to manage that.) Since she’d hate for the UES to be blast-free, she’s left her laptop in the hands of that media maven on the rise, Serena! This could create a serious conflict for poor S — just weeks ago she was calling for GG’s head on a platter, but she might change her tune when she has all those secrets and that power in reach. We’re dying to know what choice she’ll make and when the actual Gossip Girl might re-emerge…
Sigh... so many questions, so many weeks to wait!
