Helen: OK, what is up with Leighton Meester leaving Gossip Girl? Is she really leaving?
Since so many of you are still asking about this, we should let you know the latest from Lay-Lay. (She once awesomely questioned my choice of pants with what “clearly is a dress” so I consider us BFFs and on a nickname basis.) The lowdown is this: My E! Online colleague Marc Malkin asked her how much longer she’ll be on the show, and she said, “Two more years.” Then, when we met up with Leighton late last week, she was a bit more cautious, saying: “I don’t know. I can’t predict the future. I have no idea. And now everyone’s asking me because you [Malkin] asked me the other day! Everyone’s like, ‘You’re leaving.’ I’m not, I don’t know. Our contracts are up in two years. I mean you never know. I don’t know what’ll happen.” So there is one rumor we can shoot down: Leighton is not leaving the show to join Psychic Friends Network. Also, I sorta heart this girl all the more for speaking her mind—whether it’s about shirts-versus-dresses or contracts.

Sara in Dearborn, Michigan: Are Serena and Ben going to be together and what’s going to happen with Dan and Blair, are they going to be together?
There’s definitely more to Ben’s story, as he’ll be sticking around longer than his obnoxo-socks sister Juliet (Katie Cassidy) so look for some sparkage to fly. As for Dan and Blair, I am bound and gagged, but FYI to you who sent me “lovely” messages regarding my last mention of them, I’m really not a Dan and Blair shipper, I just liked their chemistry as a sleuthy spy team. In fact, I’m not a G.G. shipper at all. I have far greater G.G. issues to occupy my mind. Like how I can incorporate Taylor Momsen’s look into my Mommy and Me playdate outfits. Thoughts?

Hemsidan Just jared har nyligen gjort en intervjuv med Leighton om blanda annat hennes film Country strong :)

JJ: I’m mad at Faith Hill for stealing your gorgeous duet with Garrett Hedlund (”Give In to Me”) on the Country Strong soundtrack.
LM: (Laughs) I’m sure that they will release the duet as well at some point. The soundtrack is beautiful, I have it on repeat.

JJ: What was it like filming the movie?
LM: It was really fun, really different and an amazing experience.

 

JJ: Did you seek out a musical?
LM: No, I mean I initially I fell in love with the character, the script, and the way Shana (Feste) writes human relationships and interaction. I loved the character and I felt like I wanted to do her justice, then on top of it Gwyneth Paltrow being involved with it was a huge draw for me. Then came the music, and I thought that that was a wonderful part of it because the music’s beautiful and it’s also part of the story. It narrates a lot of the film.

JJ: And you got to dabble in a different genre of music.
LM: Yeah, that I’ve never done. It was a completely different world. Nashville is an entirely different world. The way people make music is very inspiring to be there and work there.

JJ: Did you get to enjoy Nashville a little bit while filming?
LM: Yeah, I was filming [Gossip Girl] in New York at the same time so I went back and forth. On the weekends I’d be shooting in Nashville. Everyone was saying, “Let’s go out, lets do something” but I would have to catch a plane or go to sleep to stay sane. I did get to go out a couple times, during rehearsal process Shana took me to a couple honky-tonks and we watched some live performances there. [My] character goes through an arc with her performances, she starts off not very confident, and she starts to come into her own and be able to perform. We saw people performing in a honkey-tonk, shooting whiskey on stage, and jumping up on the bar, just completely different and Shana said “watch”. We later went to the Ryman and saw Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride performing and they were these huge stars owning the stage, so that was the arc of Chiles’ performance. She starts off unable to utter a note and then she eventually can perform for an arena.

JJ: A big part of the film is based on drug addiction, specifically pills, something that’s very real in Hollywood how do you stay away from that?
LM: For me it’s not hard to stay away from it. I think a huge part of what this film’s underline theme is, is “can you have love and success, or do you have to choose?” In my eyes I don’t think you do. I haven’t had to question that. I’ve just been working and not bothering with wondering if I need to choose. I love love and I think eventually I would like to have some, I welcome it. I think the main problem with somebody who would have so many issues is that they don’t have love in their life, and I feel like working to me is important. I want to make my family proud and I love my family. That’s what gives me the strength to do it. I think that part of not having love, you kind of fulfill that with drugs or alcohol or any kind of addictive or abusive substance or relationship, and it will ruin you. I guess that the lesson is just “don’t do drugs, just say no.”

JJ: You have fans all over the world and are a role model for many. What is that like?
LM: I think that I would never necessarily say that I would want that because I think it’s important to just live your life. Luckily what I want from my life is to be happy and healthy and grow as an actor and as a person. Hopefully if someone were to look to that as an example then they would see the positive. At the same time when I’m choosing roles and when I’m making choices in a role it has to be what’s right for me.

JJ: Well, what’s right for you in terms of your music right now? When are we going to hear an entire album?
LM: I just performed the other night (in Los Angeles). I was performing with Check in the Dark, a band that I’ve been working with. I’ve been talking to them for a couple of weeks as they were planning this show and I said I would get up and do a few songs. I’ve been writing since April, so that’s eight months, I’ve been writing a lot. I went to Europe for three months and came back with a whole bunch of songs that I love and I want to release eventually. I’m feeling no pressure to do that because I want it to be perfect and I want it to be right, and it’s definitely different than what I was doing before. I was inspired by this movie really to do something different.

JJ: I love the song “Summer Girl” in the film.
LM: Yeah, it is really cute!

JJ: Was country music ever a thought for you?
LM: That’s what everyone keeps saying — “Are you going to do a country song, or country album?” and I just think I should start saying yes (laughs). I would never say never because I love country music and I think it’s a very true music form. I spent so much time in Nashville and we got to work with the most incredible musicians and producers and writers and singers. I met the woman who wrote “Give In to Me” and I just gave her a hug and I fell in love with it. I understand country music. It’s telling a story. It transcends. It lasts.

JJ: What are your Christmas plans?
LM: I have plans to do nothing. I have plans to have no plans. I am just really excited to just be with my family and when I’m in Florida I do absolutely nothing. We just enjoy eating and sleeping in and watching movies and playing video games.

JJ: What do you guys watch together as a family?
LM: Well, I think that Blues Clues is taking over because my niece is 3 and she’s obsessed. We go out on the boat and water ski. We go down to the Keys for a couple of days. It’s just nice.

Hur många läsare du har per dag? :)
Det beror på vilken dag det är men har mellan 30-55 läsare per dag. På söndagar brukar jag ha flest besökare och sen kan det vara någon dag jag bara har 20 läsare :)


Vilken är din favorit av GG-karaktärerna?
Oj, den frågan är svår men tror det är Chuck såklart gillar jag Blair också men Chuck är lite bättre :P

Om du fick välja, vilka skulle då bli tillsammans i slutet av serien (alltså slutet, sista avsnittet)? Alltså, typ så här: jag skulle vilja se Dan & Serena, Nate & Vanessa och så (OFC!) Blair & Chuck <3

Jag skulle Blair och Chuck tillsammans hehe konstigt va :P Nej men sen skulle jag vilja att Serena skulle få ihop det med Dan igen dom var så söt tillsammans i första säsongen. Nate passar så himla bra med Jenny tyckte dom var så himla söta i andra säsongen. Vanessa ja hon får vell bli ensam :P Nej men om Scott skulle komma tillbaka tycker jag dom kan bli tillsammans jag gillade faktiskt dom som ett par i tredje säsongen :)

Hur kommer det sig att du starta en blogg om chuck och blair?
Oj ee kommer inte ihåg... :P nej men jag tror det var för jag satt och sökte runt massa saker om gossip girl. Sedan tror jag bara att jag kände för att göra en blogg men ville inte att den skulle handla om mig så då blev det om Blair och Chuck för det var och är dom som jag tycker är mest intressant i serien och var det mest tilltalande om att skriva.Kände vell också att jag inte ville start en till blogg om alla i gossip girl då det redan finns ett antal :)

När tror du de blir tillsammans eller tror du att de kommer bli det? isånna fall sent i säsongen eller snart?
Jag tror dom blir tillsammans sent i säsongen och det tycker jag kan kännas tråkigt men det känns även som dom måste ha lite distans från varandra efter allt som har hänt i nu i höst. Jag ser verkligen fram imot våren för att se vad dom har planerat om vårat favorit par :)

Hur gammal är du? har alltid undrat :)
Jag är 17 år :) jag känner mig gammal :P

Vad gillar du mest med chuck och blairs relation till varandra?
Vet inte riktigt men det har något med att göra att båda är bitcharna i deras värld och tillsammans är dom helt annorlunda. Dom liksom komplimenterar varandra till det bättre. Jag vet faktiskt inte riktigt vad jag ska svara då jag själv inte har något riktigt svar. Dom är bara så himla bra med varandra. :)

Är chuck och Blair eller ska man säga ed och leighton bra vänner privat? vad vet du om det?
Har faktiskt ingenaning. Men tror dom är rätt så bra vänner :) Dom verkar ju komma väldigt bra överens på inspelningarna.

Hur tror du att gossip girl kommer att sluta med par osv?
Jag tror det kommer sluta Blair och Chuck det måste ju liksom sluta så :P och sen kommer det säkert bli att Dan blir tillsammans med Serena igen. Sen vet jag faktiskt inte hur jag tror med resten personerna i serien.

Tror du att det kommer fler gossip girl säsonger? ;)
Ja det tror jag i allafall en säsong till. Dom har ju skrivit kontrakt till säsong 6 också så vi får bara hoppas på att det blir fler säsonger. Jag läste att i USA hade det ökat med tittare till sista avsnittet nu i höst så det visar ju goda tecken på att dom kommer forstätta om tittarna forsätter att öka :)

Jag många avsnitt som jag gillar så det är svårt att välja en men på min topplista ligger nog Avsnitt 2.13

Det har ju varit snack om att Serena och Dan (fast i privat livet då) inte kommer överens med de andra och vill hoppa av GG pågrund av det? vad säger du om det är det bara bullshit eller :D

Har faktiskt ingenaning :S Men jag tror faktiskt inte på det. Det fanns en artikel tidigare i höstas om att Penn (Dan) försvarade Taylor (jenny) mot att alla tycker hon klär sig så hemsk och att hon är ett dåligt inflyande på folk så jag tror inte dom inte kommer överens.

 

Ikväll går sista avsnittet för det här året på tv! Det är ny tid kl 18.30 på kanal 5 så missa inte det! sedan har dom också uppehåll här i sverige. Vet inte än när dom kommer börja visa nya avsnitt på tv men meddelar det så fort jag får reda på något :)

En intervjuv med Leighton om Gossip girls framtid!

Get ready to say goodbye to Gossip Girl as we know it.

The show’s not closing shop just yet, but Leighton Meester tells me she already knows when she’ll be exiting the hit prime-time soap…

“Two more years,” she told me yesterday at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, while promoting her new movie, Country Strong.

Why then? “Because we’re under contract,” she said matter-of-factly.

While Meester said she “obviously enjoys working on the show and living in New York,” she also explained that producers and the network have been more understanding than ever before about Leighton and her costars taking time off or jiggering schedules in order to pursue other projects, particularly movies. “It allows you to be ready for when the show’s over,” she said.

Will the entire series end in two years, too? “I don’t know,” Meester said, “but I think there’s that old saying about wanting to go out on top.”

In Country Strong, Meester costars as Chiles Stanton, a singing beauty queen seen as a threat by Kelly Tanner (Gwyneth Paltrow), a rehabbing alcoholic country singer trying to make a comeback under the watchful eye of her manager husband (Tim McGraw). Tron star Garrett Hedlund is Beau Hutton, the hot as heck rough-around-the-edges musician who befriends both Kelly and Chiles.

The movie hits theaters on Jan. 7.

“You know, it’s good to look in the mirror and not totally recognize yourself,” Meester said of playing the country cutie. “You know, she’s got big hair, big eyelashes, acrylic nails, lip liner, blue leather dresses. It was a lot of fun. It was like playing dress up Country Barbie.”

Meester will also be seen in upcoming flicks like Monte Carlo opposite Selena Gomez and Glee’s Cory Monteith, Oranges with Hugh Laurie and The Roommate, a thriller with Burlesque Twilight hottie Cam Gigandet and Minka Kelly.

Will Gossip Girl mean the end to regular series television for Meester? “Um, I never say never,” she said. “It would have to be the right show just like it would have the right movie.“

Lite tankar om Dan och Blair om du skulle bli tillsammans den här säsongen från den här hemsidan

Spoiler i texten om ni inte har sett avsnitt 11 :)

First off, there’s no way to ignore how evil Lilly suddenly seems (with the selling of Bass Industries, and sacrificing a man’s life so Serena could go to Constance.) I mean, there’s making mistakes and then there’s downright (habitual) selfish behavior. Who knew Lilly could turn out to be the most wicked of all Gossip Girl characters?

By the end of “The Townie” it sure seems like fans might get their “Dair” wish, with Dan and Blair hooking up. Is their love/hate relationship different enough to rival the Chuck and Blair former pairing? Would fans enjoy it at all? Could this show get any more incestuous in terms of everyone dating each other? (Seriously, you’d think that New York City was the smallest place in the world if you based your knowledge on Gossip Girl.)

Is season 4 when we’ll finally see the impossible (Dan/Blair) happen? Yay or nay?

Spotted: D and B near the Waldorfs.  Um, wtf?  I’m guessing they ran into each other while each was on the way to visit S in rehab?  C and N grabbing drinks at Abe & Arthur’s.  Whoa, just realized these 2 are both bachelors.  Let the fun begin!  Of course, there was no S sighting since we all know she’s tucked away at the Ostroff Center.  Get better soon!
