I know you Chair fans have been in a funk since May, when Chuck the Basshole did you know what with you know who (for shame!), but I finally have a ray of hope to offer…I can tell you exclusively that Chuck and Blair will have, um, relations, of the bom-chicka-bow-wow kind during the upcoming season. My second thought is maybe wannabe Vera Wang Jenny Humphrey returns home to audition for the next cycle of Runway. Don’t laugh. Stranger things have happened.

While she continues her acting career on the hit CW show ‘Gossip Girl’ and her new movie ‘Monte Carlo’ with Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester is also making some time to work on her new solo album.

Leighton’s upcoming album will likely have “a lot of acoustic stuff,” reports OMG, Music!. Her CD with the working title Love Is a Drug is expected to be released in early 2011.

But she’s in no rush to get things done as she wants to take her time getting it right and enjoying “experimenting and having fun” with this new project.

He may have had fan mail from women wanting his babies but Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick is in no hurry to become a dad…

“My brother has a seven-month-old son and I found the experience of looking after the little chap, just for an afternoon, surprisingly dem-anding,” says Stevenage-born Ed, 23, who plays Chuck Bass in the hit ITV2 show.

“I may put the whole daddy thing off – at least for a while.”

Ed is also rumoured to have put the whole dating thing on hold, too, after breaking up with GG co-star Jessica Szohr earlier this year.

In a world where prima donna stars are a dime a dozen, it’s nice to see one grateful for what she has. Leighton Meester says she’s still thrilled with her role on Gossip Girl.

The actress, who plays Blair Waldorf, praised the writers for creating the “noble” character: “I am living my dream and having the time of my life!” she told Cosmopolitan.

“I’m so lucky because I get to do that all day long and play a character who has a lot of noble qualities as well. I am really lucky she is such a well-written character.”She added that her own youth was different from Blair’s despite having also grown up in New York for part of her childhood. Leighton, who was born in Florida, says:

“[It was] the complete opposite [of Blair], to be honest. I had lived in NYC before but not the Upper East Side – it was in the Upper West Side, which was very different.”

“When I was a teenager I was in a public high school. I certainly was not popular by any means, and I didn’t have a car or a lot of money, so it was very different.”

We doubt those are issues for her now, but it’s good to see she hasn’t changed and has an appreciation for how far she’s come. What’s not to love about Leighton?

Allociné: The eyes of viewers on Blair is quite strange. We love her when she’s nasty and at the same time, we would like her to be happy,  with no reason to be so evil … Is it possible for her to be both at once?

Leighton Meester: The beauty of the character of Blair comes from her complexity, she’s never “one dimensional”. Her nastiness and her lack of confidence don’t end well and perhaps come precisely from the fact that she is basically a good person. Yes, in my opinion, Blair has a good heart, but it’s true, she’s driven by the desire to be always the best, a need for competition. This probably comes from her parents and her past relationships. Personally, it’s fun to play the villain side but it can’t and shouldn’t be pointless and meaningless. She’s smart, she’s very smart, but also manipulative. It could be worse (laughs) But I hope she finds happiness; when she’s happy … it’s better for everyone!

What can you tell us about the first two episodes of Season 4 you shoot in Paris?

Unfortunately not much (laughs)! Blair went to Paris because her father lives there. But also to get away from everything that happened with Chuck. After all, Paris is the most romantic city, the city of Love. Being there is a good method for healing. She wants to find love without necessarily replacing Chuck. She goes to places she loves, she meets someone at the Musée d’Orsay … She thinks he’s a Prince. But, as usual, things don’t go exactly as she hoped, it’s also part of charm of this character (laughs)! All what she imagines, usually turns into a disaster! This is also why she is so much loved. But Blair also tends to return to her bad habits with Serena, becoming jealous, competitive … Blair is not doing well while at the same time Serena is joyful. This makes reappear?? things in her, including anger. But it’s rather funny, I swear ! About the plot with Chuck and Paris … I can’t tell you (laughs)!

You said t there were a few of you in Blair. Can you tell us more?

I couldn’t play her every day if it wasn’t the case. I love her. And I’m always on her side, even when she is nasty. I always see what is good in her. I’m lucky to have someone as well-written. I repeat: Blair is not that bad. She’s extremely intelligent, she’s incredibly well dressed … (laughs) Basically, I understand her and she touches me. She lacks of self-confidence. She struggles with things that everyone knows: family problems, with friends, school, love, her body … If you go a little in depth, she’s a human being full and complete. And for me, Blair is more than a TV show character. And I find her irresistibly funny. I love her.

Do you know, do you want Blair to be back with Chuck in the future?

I hope so. I really like their relationship. Nobody understands her better than Chuck and vice versa. Even in their Machiavellian dimension ! Unfortunately they have hurt each other so much … This is part of any romantic relationship, but not at that level. In the end, I think they have a future, at least I hope so.

Can they forgive what happened at the end of season 3?

In a show, it’s possible (laughs)! In the real world, I don’t know … But I would really like Blair to forgive him because basically, both love each other very much.

Yes, absolutely! It seemed logical, natural, perfect. She brings out the best in him, and he did the same with her. Don’t forget the sexy dimension of their couple! Also, I love working with Ed (Ed.: Ed Westwick, the actor playing Chuck).

New York, Paris … few  shows are shot in real locations, in the place of the action …

We are so lucky. But I think Gossip Girl wouldn’t be the same without these place. The city is a part of the show, just as the characters. We draw energy from these places, from people around.

A few years ago, you stared in a show we loved, “Surface”. A quick word on this ephemeral adventure?

It was so long ago (note: Surface : aired on NBC between September 2005 and February 2006). I loved playing in this show. We filmed in North Carolina.Funny that you tell me about this show. No one ever asks me any question about it! As you know, it’s a very different show of Gossip Girl! It was a rather a funny experience and I stayed pretty close to a number of people who have worked on it. Of course, I was sad when it was canceled because, like everyone else, I wanted to know the rest of the story!

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress loves experimenting with different fragrances to suit her mood but prefers to create her own scent from essential oils.

She explained: “I love perfume and I wear all kinds of different types depending on my mood.

“But for the past couple of years I’ve been making my own perfume out of essential oils, so I use that. It’s kind of a vanilla scent.”

Though the brunette beauty takes time to blend her perfume, she admits she doesn’t spend long applying her make-up every day.

She added to Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “I never wear make-up when I’m not working. Very rarely I’ll put on a little bit of concealer here and there and maybe some red lipstick just to make it look like I made the effort – it does wonders.”

The actress also revealed her beauty icons to be actress Julianne Moore, Cate Blanchett and Dame Helen Mirren.

She said: “I really love Julianne Moore for having fair skin and a really beautiful smile. I love Cate Blanchett because she glows from within. And I love how Helen Mirren has aged so gracefully. She’s gorgeous and quite sexy.”

The actor shot to fame playing arrogant rich teenager Chuck Bass in popular American television series Gossip Girl. He has been in an on/off relationship with his co-star Jessica Szohr since 2008, but the pair are believed to have recently split for good.

Ed says he enjoys being in a relationship and likes the closeness that comes with being in love. Although the star is happy to date for now, he hopes he will one day settle down with the right woman.

“My worst nightmare is having nobody that loves me. But at least I always have my mum,” he joked in an interview with television show The Hot Desk.

The 23-year-old hunk claims he is a good boyfriend and does his best to make people happy. However, he admits he sometimes speaks before he thinks and upsets the opposite sex without meaning to.

Ed Westwick was in Paris in July to shoot the two first episode of season 4 of Gossip Girl. First revelations. Warning: Spoilers !!!

Allociné: What can you tell us about these episodes filmed in Paris?

Ed Westwick: We shoot the first two episodes of season 4. Chuck survived the shooting occurred at the end of season 3, saved by a girl named Eva. He lives a new life in Paris, a life he wants, away from complexities and troubles he has lived before, lies and schemes… Chuck is in search of purity. This change between these two lifestyle is worth exploring, for example, his clothes have completely changed. Today, he’s a very simple guy, with jeans and a t-shirt working in a cafe !

Basically, does he lives the life he was deeply searching for?

I don’t know. But it’s the life in which he feels better now. After all what happened, after losing faith in everything he believed, he believes in change, in this simple and pure lifestyle.

What can you tell us Eva?

Eva is played by Clemence Poesy. She saves Chuck and they move on to Paris together. She’s the opposite of Blair. At least, that’s how we can see it. She’s simple and loves Chuck for who he really is.

Does she know who is really Chuck?

No. She thinks she knows but … there is something very strong between them. Her uncle owns the cafe where Chuck works. Eva represents everything he wants at this point of his life. Someone simple, safe, a different pace …

Where is the cafe where Chuck works?

I couldn’t say exactly, but I can tell you the name: “Le Baron Rouge’ ["The Red Baron"] (Ed.: Rue Théophile Roussel, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris).

“Gossip Girl” has real locations in Paris, like the ones in New York. Is it a chance, an advantage for the show and the actors?

Yes, we are indeed very lucky ! We have the chance to shoot in a beautiful city in the U.S. … and now in France ! Of course, I see Paris as a natural extension of Gossip Girl universe. We also regularly refers to it in the show, Blair’s father is even supposed to live there ! It’s wonderful now to shoot in Paris, it really adds something to the show.

Chuck lives the dream life here in Paris. But Blair is also here …

And this is the problem ! The presence of Blair reminds him we can’t escape from who we really are. In the end, Chuck realizes he must return and face his demons in order to advance in life.

It is a real curse …

Probably. But for him it’s mostly a reminder of what it means to be an adult. A man can’t run away, he have to assume his responsibilities. In life, “run away” doesn’t mean”improve”.

Chuck became an adult long before his mates in “Gossip Girl” …

I don’t think he’s really an “adult”. We can put on “adult” clothes but that doesn’t mean they’ll fit. Mostly, they are simply too large. This season will be particularly interesting from this point of view, especially after what happened and what we tried to put in place in these first two episodes. Chuck is facing a crucial issue. He has the opportunity to evolve. Will he get his chance or will he miss this opportunity and return to what he was before?

Speaking of “critical issue”, here’s another: Do you think Blair and Chuck will be back together someday?

There is a chemistry between them, a magnetic attraction. One might therefore conclude that yes, they are likely to reunite. We’ll see … But, like in life, it’s sometimes better to let it go, evolve, move on.

On another note, what happened with the England team at this World Cup Soccer (note: this interview was conducted before the end of the World Cup)?

I don’t know. Our team just was worth nothing (note: the England team was eliminated from the Eighth-Finals). There are many ways to explain that. Do our players play too many matches during the regular season with their clubs ? Is our championship let enough room for our young players, knowing that clubs are not forced  to take a single English player in their team, unlike for example France, where a club has to bring at least six French players ? Are there too many overpaid divas in our national team? I keep in mind what Özil, the German player, responded to Wayne Rooney’s statement saying he was bored by England team: “If you’re bored in the middle of the biggest competition in the world, you don’t belong there “Besides Rooney was really bad at this World Cup! OK, he’s good, but certainly not like Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

A prediction for the finale ?

Spain will win. 2-1 against the Netherlands.

It is called “Le soleil”.

Probably Zidane.

Do you remember the particular moment you decided to become an actor?

I don’t remember the particular moment but I know it started when I was young and played in small plays. The atmosphere, emotions it provoked in me … everything was perfect.

You remember your first role?

I did some plays but the first real role was Lysander in a children’s version of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare.

What can you tell us the movie “Chalet Girl,” in which you play ?

It’s an english romantic comedy I did in March. With Bill Nighy and Brooke Shields, great actors, great people … it will be a “feel good movie” ideal for Christmas! I really enjoyed playing in it.
